Boonie Mayfield is a producer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, mentor, filmmaker, and more that hails from Colorado and rose to internet stardom during the early days of YouTube as one of the originators of beat-making videos. For years, Boonie Mayfield's YouTube channel inspired many aspiring producers around the world to get in touch with their creative potential.
In the beginning, Boon Doc was known for his highly revered sample-chopping skills. But after his first studio was robbed of almost all of his equipment in 2010, Boonie re-emerged as a multi-instrumentalist who no longer depended on samples. Now producing and writing all of his own original songs as an independent artist, Boonie Mayfield's distinctive sound fuses many genres including Alternative Hip-Hop, Funk, R&B/Soul, Jazz, Classic Rock, Blues, Pop, Cinema and Comedy.

"While Black" is based on three true stories of Boonie Mayfield's personal experiences with racism. The 2-part piece takes listeners and viewers through a night and day’s journey with Boonie as he gets racially profiled by police, deals with stereotypes in the dating world and faces the ugly side of interacting on social media.
