Meet Janae Music the soulful songstress FROM WASHINGTON, DC who will be the next musical force coming out of the DMV area. She started singing in a children’s choir in school and church THEN competed in a collegiate competition that solidified her skills as a performer. Her lyrics reflect real life experiences fueled by love, passion and pain. Although she grew up as a tomboy watching and playing sports, she is very much in tune with her feminine side. Janae hopes to inspire other women to embrace their beauty and struggles with everything she has learned. “I am motivated by life, love, the ability to impact others to grow, and most of all, change. My music is a gift from my heart to your ears.” SHE ADDS, “I am excited to grow daily and hope to evoke emotions in others through my music in the same way. Everyone goes through heart break, love, and what we ideally call, “The Blues” I want to encourage others to BOSS UP instead of breaking down!!” Currently, Janae has been working on new music, perfecting her craft and brand. The debut EP, 11/24, with lead singles, “Put In On You” and “My Love” is now streaming on all digital platforms. Not only is she a great songwriter with an impeccable work ethic, her stage presence is electrifying with infectious energy that can be felt across the room. SHE IS known for rocking the stage with back up dancers but most of the time kills the stage ALL on her own. She has been building an organic fanbase from performing at many events and locations such as; Washington, DC's legendary and historic, Howard Theatre, the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD., Nerve DJ's stage at SXSW in Texas, Core DJ's stage in New York City and in LA. Major performances include; singing the National Anthem at professional boxing events as well as basketball games, BET Live stage and more. What separates Janae from other artist is her unique, genuine, authentic, and natural style. Passionate and real in all aspects. “I’m Big on community work! I Love giving back to the youth, juveniles, AND THE AT-RISK COMMUNITY. I would like to invest in the black community. I look forward to creating a music hub for the DMV for more emerging artists!” JANAE IS an everyday woman not trying to be superficial or bigger than the world. Her goals include making a major impact in the music industry and empowering women to be fearless and strong. Take your pain and turn it into power.
