About
There was a time, not too long ago when hip hop music spoke to the soul of those living in the Black and Hispanic communities throughout the country; while the geography and slang differed, their story has always been one of hope, pain, joy, tragedy, hardships, and survival. Yet, much of the music today speaks of a life and problems not faced by the community supporting the artists. Much of the music speaks to a life to aspire to while it ignores the hardships, pain, tragedy, and hope of daily survival that many people call life in the ghetto. While boastful on the mic, BossAmi brings a feeling to his music that many seek their entire careers to do just once; he speaks to the heart of the impoverished communities across the country and makes music that they can relate to. In his music, BossAmi shows that he is not only one of the best MCs to grab the mic, but that his words touch the listener and allow them to feel the pain, struggles, and hope that push BossAmi to strive to uplift himself and those around him. Born in Gainesville Florida, T-Watts did not grow up focused on music but instead turned towards violence and crime. Over the years, however, he began honing his skills, first under the name Dirty Boss Dawg. Due to his close family and a strong dedication to music he was able to move beyond his various legal issues and remain focused. Now looking for a fresh start, and with a new name, BossAmi is poised to take the rap game by storm as he focuses on the launch of his Entertainment Company. Well known within the Gainesville rap scene as an enigma, BossAmi never disappoints on a track and has been featured on numerous projects. This year he released a solo mixtape entitled, V.S.O.P. : Villainous Schemes or Plots as well as a self-titled mixtape released exclusively in the UK. Recently, he was featured on the #IDoIT4MyCity mixtape, an project comprised of the best artists in the city of Gainesville. BossAmi has much left in store for 2018, with a video for “Used To” set to drop next month followed by “Ms. Parker,” both from his V.S.O.P. mixtape. BossAmi also plans to release a handful of singles and a full complement of videos later this year. This will set up the release of his first album under BossAmi Entertainment, expected to drop early 2019, entitled, “Frank Williams: The Original Copeland G.”
