Markisha ‘Keesh Couture’ Streeter is a hip hop rapper/recording artist from Southeast Washington, DC. Keesh spits authentic lyrics with captivating metaphors. At 8 years old, Keesh expressed an early interest in music and poetry where she was a part of the school choir and the poetry club. Shortly after, Keesh suffered the loss of her father to gun violence. It was then that Keesh Couture found her love for hip hop and would later turn her poetry into music. Keesh’s sassy personality combined with street lyrics brings an edge that the rap game has been missing. Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and Jay Z are some of her biggest influences. “I want to be able to tell my story in a way that touches people and they can relate. I want to show women that you don’t have to solely sell sex to be successful in this game”, says Keesh. Keesh has opened up for artists such as Kevin Gates and Jhene Aiko And has worked with some of the industry vets to include Chris Gotti and Alex Acosta. Keesh has a vision to become one of the best in the DMV as well as the rap game and she isn’t stopping until she reaches that goal!
